FAQs

If Venturing is part of the Boy Scouts of America, can girls join?
Absolutely!  Venturing is a co-ed program, and Crew 26 has many female members.
When and where does your Crew meet?
Crew 26 usually meets one Sunday and one Monday evening a month at Bellevue First Presbyterian Church, 1220 Bellevue Blvd. South, Bellevue, Nebraska.  The Crew also usually offers at least one outdoor activity each month.
Who can I contact for more information?
E-mail us at i…@crew26.org for more information.  Click on the e-mail address and type in the code to view the entire address.
Do you have an active outdoor program? How often do you camp?
Our crew’s main focus is Outdoor High Adventure. We regularly hike, bike, swim, shoot, and try to have at least one campout each spring and winter, Nebraskan weather permitting. We also plan High Adventures each summer, such as hiking in Colorado or a trip to Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico.
Where do you camp?
We’ve camped at Bellevue Rod and Gun club, Little Sioux Scout Ranch, Indian Cave State Park, and Camp Wakonda, to name a few. We don’t have set locations, because we just go wherever the crew wants to be.
Are your Crew Members able to balance Crew with other activities such as sports, band, church, etc.?
Yes. Many of our youth have other activities and we understand they are not able to attend all of our functions. However, they can still participate in Crew 26.
Do you have to live in a certain area to be able to be a part of Crew 26?
Not at all! Crew members attend several metro Omaha high schools, including Millard North, Omaha North, Bellevue East, Westside High School, and more.
If I am a member of another Crew, a Troop, or Girl Scouts, can I retain that membership and still join Crew 26?
Yes.
How do you feel about a potential crew member (and parent) visiting a meeting?
We welcome new members and encourage potential crew members to visit. Crews have different focuses and personalities, and it is important to find a group that’s a good fit.
Is your Crew “youth-run” or “adult-run”?
Our Crew is youth run with adult guidance and mentoring.  Depending on the role, Crew members are elected or appointed to Crew leadership positions.
What is the youth/adult leader ratio at meetings and on outings?
Boy Scouts of America (BSA) requires at least two responsible adults at every meeting and outing.
How do you communicate with scouts and families?
Most of our communication is by email.
